The Beetle Roadtrip Sessions

Anne of Green Gables and Paper Lions collide in Beetle Roadtrip Session

Posted on July 7, 2014

Let’s get this out of the way.

I love Prince Edward Island for a few distinct reasons: I adore Anne of Green Gables. I love P.E.I. music. So what better place to stage our latest CBC Music Beetle Roadtrip Session than Green Gables Heritage Place in Cavendish with a performance from indie-rock favourites Paper Lions? Especially when they perform their perfect pop song "My Friend"?!

Both Anne of Green Gables and Paper Lions are among P.E.I.’s hottest cultural exports and to combine them both in one session = my deepest Island dreams come true.

The only question that remains is… will my quest of actually meeting Anne Shirley — in person — come true? Will she become... My Friend? She’s real, right? (Watch the video above to find out.)
