On June 15, 2011 Riot erupted on the streets of Vancouver following the Canucks' loss to the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. Hundreds of rioters set cars on fire, looted stores and taunted police officers as they tore through the city's downtown core. Police declared the area a riot zone as they worked to corral the crowd and put a stop to the rampage. The Riot made headlines across the globe, and left many Vancouverites in shock.
