At age seven, Jacob Deng embarked on a terrifying three and a half month journey by foot to escape war in his village. He is one of at least 20,000 boys who became known as "The Lost Boys" of Sudan. Through sheer determination and desire to succeed he not only survived but ultimately earned an education. Now living in Halifax, Deng is working to help the people of Sudan through his charity Wadeng Wings of Hope.
