Atlantic Airwaves Goes Country

photo_by_Mat_Dunlap-3.jpg Thumbnail image for meaghan blanchard.jpgThis week on Atlantic Airwaves we tip our stetsons to the Canadian Country Music Awards with a few of the Maritime nominees (Dean Brody and George Canyon). The Awards will be televised on CBC TV Sunday evening, September the 8th. Also on our show we have a feature with up and coming country singer/songwriter Meaghan Blanchard from PEI. She stops by our Charlottetown studio to chat about her brand new release 'She's Gonna Fly'. And as part of our Airwaves Goes Country show we have a studio session with musician Ryan Cook. Ryan is dedicated to old time country music and he partners up with lap steel and dobro player Asa Brosius for this performance. See below for videos. Atlantic Airwaves is heard every Saturday at 10 a.m. on CBC Radio 2 and at 5 past 5 in the afternoon on CBC Radio 1.
