Ron MacLean

Ron began his career in Red Deer, Alta. working for a local radio station in 1978 and has become one of Canada’s most treasured broadcasting legends. MacLean has since been involved in CBC’s Olympic Games coverage since 1988 and is best known for his role as co-host of Hockey Night in Canada as well as Coach’s Corner. He has won eight Gemini Awards including Best Sports Broadcaster and Best Host in a Sports Program, was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, and has written two books including bestseller, Cornered. Through his many years as both a broadcaster and a hockey referee travelling across the country, MacLean has both heard and told many heartfelt stories of sport that he then brings into the homes of Canadians everywhere during TV broadcasts. His familiarity and charisma, even through a television screen, have made him one of the most recognizable and trusted Canadian sports broadcasters.
