Daytime: 11:00 a.m. (11:30 NT) – 2:00 p.m. (2:30 NT): CBC News Special Presentation: Canada Day 2018 anchored by Rosemary Barton live from Parliament Hill, featuring events from across the country.

Evening: Sunday, July 1, 9:00 p.m.  (9:30 NT) - 10:00 p.m. (10:30 p.m. NT): Canada Day in the Capital will feature musical performances by Arkells, DJ Shub, Lights, Klö Pelgag, Iskwé, Boogát, Jean-Marc Couture, Rose Cousins, Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Ruth B, The Dead South and Brigitte Boisjoli.   

How to Listen

Canada Day in the Capital will air on CBC Radio One and CBC Music and with a special, lead-in radio program on CBC Radio One and CBC Music hosted by Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe and Pete Morey at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT) airing beforehand. Earlier in the day, Radio One is also airing a one-hour special, Canadians Songs For the Future Inspired by the Past 12:00 p.m. ET – 1:00 p.m. ET (9 a.m. PT – 10 a.m. PT). More details below!

CBC NEWS SPECIAL PRESENTATION: CANADA DAY 2018
11:00 a.m. (11:30 NT) – 2:00 p.m. (2:30 NT)

Hosted by Rosemary Barton, this three-hour CBC News special will air on CBC, CBC News Network, CBC Radio and cbc.ca/watch. CBC reporters Tashauna Reid, Vassy Kapelos, Charlsie Agro, Renée Filippone and Kayla Hounsell will update Barton on Canada Day celebrations happening across Canada.

CBC RADIO ONE: CANADIAN SONGS FOR THE FUTURE INSPIRED BY OUR PAST
12:00 p.m. ET – 1:00 p.m. ET (9 a.m. PT – 10 a.m. PT)
CBC Radio host Alan Neal invites Canadian songwriters who are in town for the Canada Day celebrations to take on a unique challenge: pluck at random one object from the millions in the vaults of the Canadian Museum Of History. The songwriters are challenged to write a song inspired by that object, which they will present on air during this special Canada Day show.
