Timothy Findley on his novel The Wars

The Story

Timothy Findley's 1977 novel The Wars tells the story of the impact of the First World War on one Toronto family. In this interview, Findley talks CBC radio host Don Harron about growing up in a family of storytellers who spoke of the war and its consequences, and of drawing from the letters of his uncle, who served in the war, for the book's graphic depictions of daily life in the trenches.
