Did You know?

• Gord Downie passed away in October 2017, after announcing to fans the year before that he had been diagnosed with a terminal form of brain cancer.

• The singer had been a part of The Hip since the band was formed in the 1980s. Over time, Downie and his bandmates became an iconic Canadian act. In 2005, The Hip were inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

• In 1999, Downie spoke to CBC about life on stage and The Hip's music.
