Raffi, singer of songs to the very young

The Story

Raffi Cavoukian, a successful singer-songwriter whose audience is under the age of seven, is in the Take 30 studio in 1979 to talk to host Harry Brown about his busy year on the concert circuit.  The soft-spoken singer, known to his fans simply as Raffi, talks about his rapport with children, his interest in early childhood education, and what he has planned for the upcoming year.

• Raffi Cavoukian was born in Cairo, Egypt, on July 8, 1948. He came to Canada with his family when he was ten, and they settled in Toronto. In 1970, he moved to Vancouver.
