Painter Rita Letendre on her work in 1969

The Story

Rita Letendre is in the Weekend studio with host Barry Callaghan, to talk about her work.  She begins her story with a discussion of her childhood, and why she began drawing.  They talk about her belief that personality and temperament influence a painter’s work, and that a painter cannot paint for reviews  -- “you just do it because you just want to do it”.
