Norris and Ross McWhirter on the Guinness Book of World Records

The Story


Norris and Ross McWhirter are in the Take 30 studio to talk about The Guinness Book of World Records. The twin brothers, who began with a facts and figures business, are the “compilers” of the book.  Over strawberry flan made by Take 30 cook Jehane Benoit, they talk to hosts Paul Soles and Adrienne Clarkson about the origin of the book, first published in 1955.  Now stocked for settling arguments in many pubs, it is available in 10 languages.

• Norris and Ross McWhirter were born Aug. 12, 1925.  Ross was killed in 1975, and Norris died on April 19, 2004.
