Did You know?

• While both players correctly forecast the 1979-80 Leafs would make the playoffs, neither played in the post-season. The Leafs lost in the first round to the Minnesota North Stars.

• Paul Gardner was traded to Pittsburgh after the season. As a Penguin, he was the victim of a brutal on-ice assault in 1982 from New York Jets player Jimmy Mann. Gardner missed six weeks with a broken jaw. Mann got a 10-game suspension.
