Leonard Cohen in Greece

The Story


After a brief stint at Columbia University in New York, Leonard Cohen obtains a Canada Council Arts Scholarship in 1959, allowing him to travel throughout Europe. He eventually settles on the Greek island of Hydra. Cohen lives there on and off for almost seven years with a Norwegian blond named Marianne Jensen and her son. She is one of the first in a long line of beautiful women in Cohen's life.
