• In the interview, both Gord Sinclair and Gord Downie talk about hoping to be playing in the band 20 years in the future. That's exactly what happened: Downie, Sinclair and their bandmates were still playing together a quarter of a century later.

• In the years that followed this interview, The Tragically Hip became an iconic Canadian rock band. The band was inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

• Downie died in October 2017, after revealing the year before that he had been diagnosed with a terminal form of brain cancer.
