‘Feisty’ actor Douglas Campbell

The Story

Actor Douglas Campbell has quite a reputation in the Canadian theatre and television world, and CBC Radio's Peter Gzowski is trying to find out how much of it is true. "Are you feisty?" asks Gzowski in this 1984 interview. "Oh, I should think so, yes," answers Campbell, who also admits to being bombastic, opinionated and difficult, but also charming, pleasant and sweet. The Scottish-born actor entertains Gzowski with the story of his life and career, throwing in a strong opinion or two along the way.
