Farm Forum: Fighting fascism overseas

The Story

If farmers want a better way of life, now's the time to fight for it - just as Canada's Armed Forces are fighting fascism in Europe. Farmers are doing their utmost to produce food for the war effort. But farmers have to look beyond the war, and in this dramatized conversation between a farmer and his son, the son patiently explains why Canadian farmers have a stake in keeping fascism at bay. The drama is followed by Farm Forum news.

Did You know?

Farm Radio Forum was a success right from the start. The CBC Program
Schedule reported in March 1941 - before the show went national - that the Ohio
Farm Bureau across the border had expressed an interest in setting up its own
listening groups.

• By its fifth broadcast, the program had an estimated
9,000 participants in registered forums in Ontario alone.
