Journalist Dan Falk meets with three brilliant Oxford scientists and searches for insight into a most peculiar dimension of TIME.
Most of us think of time as a definite sequence, enabling us to past
from the future. And we're always conscious of the current time, the one
we all refert to as "now". But in the world of science, the concept of
time is infinitely complex, and, thanks to Albert Einstein, complexly
relative. Which means, as you'll hear on today's show, that for
scientists, "now" doesn't really exist.
So, for the next fifty
plus minutes, or three-thousand-plus seconds, forget about your watches,
and let journalist Dan Falk worry about the time. His documentary
originally aired on "Ideas" and it's called "Living on Oxford Time".
