The Hockey Sweater, the classic Canadian book by Roch Carrier, has been transformed into a new musical production. Carrier talks about the longevity of his winter tale.  13:26

When you think of the classic Canadian children's book The Hockey Sweater, you might think of long, cold Quebec winters, glassy ice, or the Montreal Canadiens' great Maurice "Rocket" Richard. But now, there's a new way to enjoy the enduring story, in a format that is much more musical.

The Hockey Sweater: A Musical is a new Montreal production that puts a musical theatre spin on the cherished childhood tale. It also digs even deeper into the life of author Roch Carrier, who was the real-life young Montreal Canadiens fan who was forced to wear a Toronto Maples Leafs jersey after a shipping mishap in 1946.

For more on the musical, Carrier joins Tom Power on today's show to discuss this Canadian classic. The Hockey Sweater: A Musical is on from now until Nov. 19 in Montreal. For more information, head over to the theatre's website.
