Ricardo magazine launches in English

Ricardo mag.jpg
Well, it's been a long-time coming: the only food magazine in English, made in Canada. It's from the cooking empire of Quebec chef Ricardo Larrivée

Ricardo, as he's known to the public, has cookbooks, television shows in English and French, a line of cooking tools and his own winery. Ricardo also launched a French-language magazine 13 years ago that became very popular.

The English version of the Ricardo magazine just launched this week across the country. Every issue promises 50 recipes (almost like a mini-cookbook) and they say it will not be a translation of the French magazine.

Ricardo Larrivée spoke with host Sonali Karnick on All In A Weekend.

Brome Lake Duck Festival in Knowlton

Rubber ducks, duck cookies, ducks on parade and duck cuisine are all part of the annual duck-fest in Knowlton.

There will also be food trucks and culinary demonstrations, local wineries and jazz, not to mention the Sunday rubber duck race on Mill Pond.

The 19th edition of the Brome Lake Duck Festival gets under way this weekend through next weekend.

One of the key players in the festival is Domenico Forte. He's the executive chef from Brome Lake Ducks.  Earlier this week, he spoke with Sonali Karnick.

Will It Waffle?: waffles all day long

Will It Waffle.jpg
Most of us think of making and eating waffles on a weekend morning. But a new cookbook turns the humble waffle iron from discarded wedding gift to a daily meal maker.

Daniel Shumski's book, Will It Waffle makes use of a waffle iron for anything from waffled filet mignon to sweet potato gnocchi. And breakfast waffles too.

He joins All in a Weekend host Sonali Karnick in-studio.
