Family photos become historic documents

31965144_image.jpgIn the mid-1970s the Tophams moved from Faro, Yukon, to Liberia, the adventure of a lifetime for the family of four.

They stayed for three years, leaving just before civil war broke out, and documented everything in hundreds of family photos.

Two years ago, as calm returned to Liberia, brothers Jeff and Andrew Topham went back to try to recreate some of those family photos. Those simple snapshots turned out to be important links to Liberia's past.
