WEDNESDAY 1 July 2009: Alice Munro*

Alice Munro - described as "Canada's Chekhov", "Canada's Flaubert" - you name it: she’s a wonderful story teller and the recent winner of the 2009 Man Booker International Prize.

Runaway and The View from Castle Rock are published in paperback by Penguin. Munro has a new book of short stories coming out this fall, called Too Much Happiness.

THURSDAY 2 July 2009: Yiyun Li

Eleanor Wachtel speaks with the award-winning Chinese-American writer, Yiyun Li. Her powerful and moving novel, The Vagrants, is set in China of the late ‘70s - a time of change following the end of the Cultural Revolution.
