January 27th was the anniversary of the 1945 liberation of Auschwitz. To mark the day, we featured an interview with the French writer and filmmaker, Claude Lanzmann. The creator of the 9 1/2 hour masterpiece, Shoah,
he's written an award-winning memoir called The Patagonian Hare.
In early February, Lanzmann was awarded the Honorary Golden Bear for lifetime achievement at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival.
