A chemical explosion in eastern China killed 18 people and injured 10 others, China's state-run news agency quoted local firefighters as saying.
The Xinhua news agency said a truck carrying chemicals exploded around 4 p.m. local time Wednesday as it was being unloaded in a warehouse near Linyi city in Shandong province.
Some 26 fire trucks were sent to the site to fight the blaze caused by the explosion, the agency said.
Linyi is a growing manufacturing hub for goods and products exported to the West.
No other details were immediately available.
