Last Updated: Wednesday, December 14, 2005 | 3:33 PM ET

A woman in Arkansas who struck and killed a child with her car must go to jail on the anniversary of his death for the next 10 years.

A judge in Benton, Ark., ordered Tiffany Nix to spend every Sept. 28 in jail. Her last stay is to be in 2015.

Nix, 25, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of nine-year-old William (Isaac) Brian. She struck the child when she passed a stopped school bus in 2004.

She was also ordered to pay $5,694.62 to cover his funeral expenses. She will be on probation for 10 years and must perform 400 hours of community service.

Police said she had opiates and amphetamines in her system at the time of the incident.

Isaac's parents, Kelly and Shari Brian, said they were pleased with the sentence.
