He has been compared to Paul Auster, Italo Calvino and Vladimir Nabokov. But Dutch novelist and travel writer Cees Nooteboom is a surprising and unique talent all on his own. In keeping with what he calls his “travelling spirit,” Nooteboom lives for part of the year in Amsterdam, part in Berlin, and spends his summers on the island of Minorca, off the coast of Spain.
