The characters in Michel Tremblay’s plays have won the hearts of theatre-goers worldwide. Will the characters in his first novel, The Fat Woman Next Door is Pregnant (Talonbooks), translated by Sheila Fischman, carry the day for the celebrated Quebec author in Canada Reads 2009?
