Nishiyuu walkers reach James Bay Highway

Nishiyuu will soon be arriving at several different stops along the James Bay Highway. The walkers are coming into Waswanipi Cree tallymen's territory. The Journey started in January, they now have close to 60 people joining the walk. Sydney Ottereyes of Waswanipi is in charge of welcoming them once they reach Cree territory.

Preparing for a long-distance trek

Following the Nishiyuu Journey, we have heard a lot lately about how difficult it is to walk long distances especially during winter. Exercise and nutrition are key to succeeding at this type of journey. Wally Rabbitskin of Mistissini who has run many marathons spoke to Joshua Loon about preparing for such a physical challenge.

Journey of Nishiyuu arrives at 4th community of Waskaganish

The Journey of Nishiyuu continues making it's way to Ottawa. On February 19th the group arrived at their 4th stop of Waskaganish. So far, they have walked over 650 km on their way to Ottawa. Melissa Natachequan spoke with Matthew Mukash to get the lastest.
