Crafty Waskaganish youth turns boxes into art

Antoinespongebob.jpgKids can often come up with interesting ideas of how to make things with the stuff that is around them. Some kids are into sports, some into games and some into art. Twelve year old Antoine Stephen from Waskaganish has an out-of-the-ordinary artistic talent. Melissa Natachequan spoke with him.

CRA organizes 1st wellness symposium

Wemindji will be hosting the 1st Cree Nation Fitness, Health, and Wellness Symposium from June 11 to 13, 2013. There are many reasons why this event is being organized, such as a high risk of diabetes and obesity in our communities. Lorraine Shecapio spoke with John Henry Wapachee, one of the organizers of the event.

Few people nominated so far for Grand Council elections

This summer Cree will go to the polls on July 15th to elect who will lead them for the next several years. The nomination process was slow to get going. Melissa Natachequan spoke with Chief Returning officer Lawrence Jimiken as the deadline to nominate approached.
