Residents of Whapmagoostui react to the arrival of VLT's

It's been about a month now that people in Whapmagoostui can go over to the arena and play on Video Lottery terminals or VLT's. This past summer at a community meeting, the people were informed that these machines would be coming for a six month trial.  Not everyone agrees that the arrival of the VLT's is a good thing. Melissa Natachequan spoke with some people in the community.

The Woodland Caribou herd is in danger in Eeyou Istchee. In September, The Regional Cree Trappers Association took part in a conference on the future of Quebec's Woodland caribou. Joshua Loon was there.

Young Cree has dreams of becoming an ultimate fighter

IMG-20121114-01155.JPGIn November, ultimate fighter George St. Pierre won his fight against Carlos Condit at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Many people in Eeyou Istchee were watching the fight with interest, including Kevin Weistchee of Waskaganish. The 15 year old has dreams of becoming an ultimate fighter himself.
