Survivor on whether Harper's apology should be displayed
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission's interim report was released at the end of February. In it, the commissioners called for changes to Canadian public school curriculums to include the story of the residential school system and its impacts. The report also recommended that every secondary school in the country display a framed copy of Prime Minister Harper's 2008 apology to survivors. Betsy Longchap spoke with residential school survivor Lilly Sutherland, from Waswanipi.
