A new protected area in Eeyou Istchee
It's summer and that means it's vacation time for many families. Many Crees go south for their holidays, but many non-natives come to the north for Eeyou Istchee's breathtaking landscape that many want to see.
Recently, another piece of land in Eeyou Istchee was designated as a protected area and this is the Assinica park, near and around Ouje-bougamou.
The Cree Outfitting and Tourism Association likes to see these types of things happening so Melissa Natachequan spoke to President of COTA, Sherman Herodier about how another park benefits the tourism industry.
