Eastmain honours hunt with Goose Dance

Lately we have seen many of the old Cree traditions coming back to Eeyou Istchee. Some of these ancient ways were lost when the non-Aboriginal people came and brought new religions. A young man in Eastmain had a dream of a dance done to honour the geese. After consulting with elders, the dream was brought to reality as the Goose Dance. Roger Orr who lives in Nemaska has been going to the Goose Dance in Eastmain since it started a few years back, and he spoke with Melissa Natachequan about why he feels it's important.

Eastmain Elder Daniel Moses doesn't remember seeing the goose dance hismself in the old days, but does remember the story. He spoke with Melissa Natachequan about it.
