CTA keeps close eye on fur market
Crees in Eeyou Istchee still have a big presence in the fur trading industry. The Fur Institute of Canada had its annual general assembly June 10-12 in Winnipeg. With so many bans and controversies when it comes to buying and wearing fur, the Cree Trappers Association pays close attention to market trends. Thomas Coon, the vice-president of the CTA, attended the assembly and spoke with Melissa Natachequan about it afterward.
