Cree Public Health recognized for H1N1 campaign

Representatives of the Cree Health Board were in Quebec City this week for a provincial award ceremony. Last spring when the H1N1 flu virus was spreading around the world, one Cree elder in Mistissini passed away and many others got sick. But overall, 84 per cent of the population in Eyou Istchee got vaccinated against the virus. That success earned Cree Public Health a nomination for a provincial award. Melissa Natachequan spoke with CHB Chairman James Bobbish the morning after the award ceremony.
