In case you missed it, we announced the winners of our
"name that disease" contest on this week's show. In our
"Bad habits" show, we played
this clip from the NBC show "Parks and Recreation" and asked you to come up with a medical name for over-consumption of soda pop/soft drinks/soda/pop. (No matter where you live or what you call it, it's sugar in a bottle..or can). We had a lot of entries but the honour goes to
Jennifer Boss, whose suggested name
"corpulent gulporea" just says it all.
And, in keeping with the pop theme, honorable mention goes to
Karen Robertson of Air Ronge, Saskatchewan, who suggested calling people who drink too much soda members of the
"pop-arazzi."
Karen and Jennifer, you'll each receive an autographed copy of Brian's book
'The Night Shift: Real Life in the Heart of the ER'.
Thanks to all of you for your creative disease labels, and because
we couldn't resist, here's one more take on "corpulent gulporea," from
The Real Bears. Just watch.
