To Err is Medicine - one hour special
Preventable medical mistakes kill as many as 24,000 Canadians a year. This holiday Monday, tune in to CBC Radio One for a one-hour special edition of White Coat, Black Art about medical errors.
"To Err is Medicine: Minimizing and Managing Medical Errors" was recorded in front of live audience at Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto last October. Host Dr. Brian Goldman and a panel of experts talk about their worst medical errors, and discuss how make the system safer for patients.
You'll also hear Maryann Murray. Her daughter Martha, was given a medication that she should not have been given because of an underlying heart condition, and died in her sleep at the age of 22. Her mother Maryann has become a passionate spokesperson for patient safety.
