Wanted: Stories on Loved-Ones with Dementia Who Wander

We're doing a show on Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia and we'd really like your help.  We're doing a story about people with dementia who wander from home.  Read this heartbreaking story in the Globe and Mail. We'll explore a health care system that all too often lets people with dementia literally fall through the cracks.  If you're the loved one of someone who has wandered from home for hours or even minutes -- something I know from personal experience -- there's nothing more terrifying than trying to find someone you care about who has disappared.  Share your story with us on our vox box 1-866-648-6714, by email at whitecoat@cbc.ca or post a reply below.  We'll play the best responses on our show.  If we play your story, we'll send you a de-stressing White Coat, Black Art bone.  As a bonus, we'll choose one entry to receive a copy of my new book 'The Night Shift', published by HarperCollins.

Update February 18: Thank you for sharing your stories, you can listen to our show about dementia here.
