This week's episode of WCBA features our townhall entitled 'To Err Is Medicine'. As many as 24,000 Canadians die each year from preventable medical errors that take place in hospital. But not every mistake occurs inside the sliding doors.
A good deal of them happen at doctors' offices and clinics. Provincial Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons license and regulate doctors. In the past, they only investigated doctors who whose patients complained about them. Now, they don't wait for trouble, but check up on doctors through random assessments.
