Ten Questions About the Swine Flu Vaccine Campaign: Question 3

Yesterday, I posed ten questions that Canadians should be asking about the way Canada has devised and implemented its H1N1 vaccination campaign.

Question #3: Was the Government of Canada right to go with a single supplier of vaccine - GlaxoSmithKline - rather than contracting more than one firm so as to improve the odds of getting a large enough supply of vaccine in time?

Now, the federal goverment has signalled it will reconsider its decision to get the H1N1 vaccine from a single supplier when it comes time to begin preparing for the next big pandemic. Here is an article in today's Toronto Star
