When I went to med school, no part of learning to be a doctor gave me more anxiety than doing my first pelvic exam. Fortunately for me (and, no doubt, my would-be patients as well), I got to practice this most intimate of physical examinations on a surrogate, a woman who is paid to be examined and to provide feedback on the med student's technique. Most women I know have a story or two about pelvics that have gone wrong.
White Coat, Black Art wants to demystify the unmentionable. We want to hear about your experiences having pelvic exams. Good stories, unpleasant stories, funny stories. We want to hear them all.
