I continue to track rain as we approach the long weekend. This afternoon looks wet! I see an area of rain crossing the border and heading toward the Red River Valley. This is just the first wave (so to speak). Between this afternoon and Saturday evening we have potential for 20-25mm of rain across the south. After that, Sunday and Monday are a tough call. the next set of disturbances look to be tracking farther south with the Winnipeg area on the northern edge of the heaviest rain band while the southern Red River Valley and the SE corner of the province will see periods of rain... and it could be heavy at times. In that scenario, the western part of southern Manitoba gets away with a fairly dry second half of the weekend. If the systems tracks a little farther north.... The rest of the Red River Valley has a better chance for at least some showers on Sunday and Monday. Monday will also be very windy! It updates automatically and does a fairly good job at showing where we could see the moisture land.
