About the Host
Angela Antle Host / Weekend AM
Angela Antle had to stand on a chair to reach the mic for her first radio gig - she was only 8-years-old. At “least” 20 years have passed since then, and now as the host of Weekend AM, she draws on her love of the medium and her love of place to tell stories about the changing culture of Newfoundland and Labrador. An artist who has toured Ireland, Australia, Italy and Newfoundland, Angela is an active member of the arts community, co-chairing the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival and co-hosting Writer’s at Woody Point.
In 2012, a TV format she co-created won the MIPTV Pitch contest in Cannes, she contributed to the creation of Q - CBC Radio’s flagship culture show as a producer and guest host, produced and hosted the CBC network program SOCKET, the television series “Majumder Manor” and the HBO feature documentary “Every Word is Absolutely True.” Fusing her interests in art, technology and stellar storytelling, Angela is interested in using innovative ways to tell stories on multiple platforms.
