WAM Dec1-2 Liner Notes Repartee

This year’s Music NL gala awards show was dominated by group of young musicians with a pop-sync sound heavily ladeled with keyboards and ever changing tempos.

Made up of Nick Coultas Clarke, Josh Banfield, Meg Warren and Robbie Brett, Repartee garnered 5 awards that included Album of the Year, Group of the Year, Rising Star of the Year, Pop/Rock Artist/Group of the Year and Fan’s Choice for their self-titled debut record.

Repartee was first formed in 2007 and now with a solid line-up, they have all tasked themselves with taking their music career as far as they can.

Repartee has just released,”Hello, Hello ,Hello”…their latest Masterppiece.

WAM Nov 24-25 Naomi Russell

She plays five instruments and counting. Still in her teens she is writing her own material and performing it every chance she gets. Fourteen-year-old Naomi Russell has alreaddy decided on a career. And as you’re about to discover.. I don’t think she lacks the drive and ambition to make it happen. Not to mention she inherited the music gene. Naomi Russell joined me earlier this week in our studio to chat about her music and to perform a couple of tunes.

WAM Nov 24-25 Mallard Cottage

It’s a slice of history about 200 years old. On 2 barrows Road in Quidi Vidi Village. The restoration of what will be a restaurant is moving ahead. The Vokeys from Trinity and doing the refurbishment of the iconic structure. They were on a break when I stopped down to have a look at what’s been done so far. The facade of the buiding is finished and I was struck with how much it looks like the old windows and clapboard on Mallard Cottage. Chefs, co-owners Todd Perrin and Stephen Lee took me on a tour of the renos.
