WAM Aug 4-5 Susan Khaladkar

400 years ago, the English businessmen who came to Newfoundland seeking new opportunities had the initial recorded meeting with the Beothuk First Nation. Where they met, near Frenchman’s Cove in Sunnyside, was named Truce Sound by governor John Guy, founder of Cupids.

400 years later, the Sunnyside Heritage Association has created the Truce Sound Anniversary festival.

Susan Khaladkar joins me now by phone. Good morning, Susan, and welcome to the Weekend Arts Magazine.
