WAM July 28-29 John Widdowson - Dictionary of Newfoundland English

Do you know what a twillick is? A giziboo? How about omaudon? None of them are a very flattering way to describe someone. Another thing they all have in common is that they are all found in the Dictionary of Newfoundland English. It's been 30 years since "The Dictionary" was published. Chris had the opportunity to speak with one of the creators of this revered tome. John Widdowson lives in England but was in the province this week.
