WAM March 17-18 Clifford George

Presence of Absence documents rural Newfoundland in a series of over 70 paintings and drawings that have been selected from the travelling journals and field sketchbooks of painter Clifford George. The work in the exhibition intimately captures an artist’s personal observation of a cultural life and a sense of place.

I visited with Cliff in the gallery on Thursday as he and Christina Parker were hanging the show and asked him why he called this collection Presence of Absence.
