WAM January 7-8 Mike Connolloy
St. Michael’s Print Shop has been a mainstay in not only our provincial arts scene but it also enjoys a fine reputation across the country and around the world.
Established in the community of St. Michael’s in the `70’s, the artist-run, not-for-profit studio offers professional facilities for both established and emerging artists.
And St. Michael’s wants to show off! They are presenting a series of “Open Print Days” where you can drop by the studio, see how prints are made, and even try your hand at some of the techniques. Their initial event is today, it is Lithography Day!
Mike Connolloy is the director of St. Michael’s, and he’s also a lithographer - which makes lithography day a natural for him.
I visited the print shop this week and asked Mike first to describe lithography.
