Weekend AM on December 17-18
Celebrations for Christmas begin as early as Tibb’s Eve in the arts community - Ruth Lawrence speaks about a fund raiser for the St. John’s Women’s Centre that features a veritable who’s who of etc. Susan MacDonald has released a science-fiction novel for young readers, we’ll talk about Edge of Time. Dawn Baker’s picture book for even younger readers, A Newfoundland Christmas, is also just out, in time for the season. VOBB hits the airwaves in Bonne Bay, we’ll give it a one-time-only bump on Weekend AM! And rumour has it that Sean Panting is Man of the Year. That’s his new album, at any rate, and Sean will be the guest on Liner Notes.
The Weekend Arts Magazine with Mack Furlong airs from 6 to 9:30 island time - 5:30 to 9:00 in parts of Labrador - on Saturday and Sunday mornings on CBC Radio 1.
