WAM June 4-5 Jean-Pierre Andrieux

The story of the fishery on the Grand Banks stretches back hundreds of years. Fishers from Europe have been coming here since the fifteenth century.

From dories to schooners to pair trawlers to FFTs, technology has harvested the Grand Banks and its products to the brink of disaster.

Businessman and popular historian Jean-Pierre Andrieux presents this history in a new book, The Grand Banks - A Pictorial History. It is resplendent with over five hundred photographs that help portray the story of our fishery.
