  • An upper level ridge of high pressure is keeping a protective dome of sunny skies locked in for the south coast for the next few days
  • Morning fog will continue to roll in along the coast through the overnights with cooler temperatures..but will burn off quickly in the sun
  • Temperatures will remain at or above the seasonal in the 23-24 range through to the weekend
  • The next weather make in the long range forecast is developing right now down in California...and will begin to move northward over the next couple of days. This upper level low may bring the risk for mountain t-storms beginning this weekend but no widespread rain or clouds at this point

Thunderstorm Risk this Afternoon/Evening for S Ontario
  • A general t-storm watch is in place for southern Ontario including Toronto for the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall ahead of a cold front that is tracking through the region today
  • There is also the slight risk of a tornado across eastern Ontario/Southern Quebec with these storms

The Sun's Magnetic Field Is About to Flip
  • Something big is about to happen on the sun. According to measurements from NASA-supported observatories, the sun's vast magnetic field is about to flip in about 3-4 months
  • The sun's magnetic field changes polarity approximately every 11 years at the peak of each solar cycle..The coming reversal will mark the midpoint- Half of "solar max" will be behind us, with half yet to com
  • The flip won't affect weather on Earth, but space weather may get a bit bumpy
